Gobbles loves you

Gobles loves you maps the life and love of Chambre Hardman and Margaret Burrell during their time apart. Through individually selecting single line narratives a private correspondence is made public, depicting an intimate relationship and a shared passion for photography.

The letters themselves depict an elegy of yesteryear. They are familiar objects that are being cast aside by technological development, yet our memories and identity make them recognizable as a form of intimacy, where you recognize someone’s handwriting, the feel of the textured paper, the stamp of location.

These letters are part of the Hardman collection at Liverpool Library and Chambre Hardman House, Liverpool, National Trust.
